Abstract:

This study aims to examine the perspective of LGBTQ on the role of dress code as part of their personal expression and self-development in the face of social norms. The results showed a complex relationship between dress code, identity, and social expectations. Dress code is not only a physical form of expression, but an important aspect of self-identification and acceptance. Despite the limitations and challenges from existing regulations, LGBTQ continue to find ways to express their true identity and achieve acceptance and respect for their gender. The study also shows the significant role of media and communities in shaping and strengthening gender identity and expression. However, it remains important to develop a more inclusive policy and vision to truly recognize and value the LGBTQ community’s right to free self-expression.
