Abstract:
The purpose of this study is to intensify the MEDIA model using an open discussion focused on the context of cultivating communicative competence, macro skills, and self-social relationships. This research is a qualitative study in descriptive form. The researchers analyzed different MEDIA plans from 11 pre-service teachers to achieve the goal. From the analysis made, a modification of the MEDIA model was developed. From this, a lesson plan anchored in the intensified model was developed and used in a teaching demonstration that was evaluated by 1 expert and 9 pre-service teachers. From the assessment made, it was proven that the developed enriched MEDIA model could help in the teaching of Filipino to further cultivate in students the necessary skills and relate themselves to society. The researchers suggest conducting other lessons at different levels and subjects to see the effectiveness of the model. Also, conduct MEDIA model development in other disciplines.
