Abstract:

A film is a popular art form and a chronic form of entertainment and business. Recording real people and things enhance the sharing of a story. This study attempt to examine the history revisionism, the literary symbolisms of the characters, and the art of the film Maid in Malacañang. The study used a qualitative design that utilize content analysis to examine inclusively the research.  The participants in the study were five (5) teachers who watched the movie. Based on the results of the study the film does not fit the real historical events. Along with the historical evidence, it is shown that something was changed in the movie that fueled the political desire of the people to change the Marcos family. The symbolism in the characters in the story shows honesty, humility, and luxury, which can be seen in each character as a symbol of the imperfect future of society but the courage shown by the maids in the Marcos family cannot be denied. The movie also showed the classical rivalry between two powerful families which is the beauty of its art.  The researcher recommends conducting related studies about other literary works that deal with the history, art, culture, and beliefs of the Filipinos. Analyzing literary works can help gain an understanding of the history and culture of Filipinos.
