Abstract:
Filipino sa Piling Larang (TechVoc) is one of the subjects in Senior High School where the writing skills of the learners are being molded and developed. This study aims to analyze the use of Filipino register in writing of TechVoc strand in 13 Senior High School in Sorsogon City. The mixed method or the combination of qualitative and quantitative was used in gathering data while Documentary Analysis was used in analyzing it. The findings revealed that that the register used by the learners in Electrical Installation and Maintenance (EIM), Electronic Products Assembly and Servicing (EPAS) and Computer System Servicing (CSS) course was less important, less efficient, less adhering to the correct spelling and less important and accurate. It also turns out that the problem faced in writing technical vocational writings has an impact on the content, message and structure/grammar and greatly affects the appropriateness of the word. It was recommended to use the Filipino register in writing different technical vocational writings related to the course, ensure that the students output submitted are related to the courses, review morphology and syntax before the writing, develop additional instructional materials to specific TechVoc course that will serve as their reference, evaluate the developed instructional material and conduct more studies about Filipino register in different TechVoc courses.
