Abstract:
Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the country has attached great importance to the ideological and political work of college students. As organizers, implementer, and guiders of students’ ideological and political education and student management, supervisors have received increasing attention. Due to the specificity and complexity of their work, supervisors face significant occupational pressures from society, organizations, families, and individuals, profoundly affecting their physiological, psychological, and behavioral changes. This paper takes supervisors from four universities as the research objects, deeply exploring the current status of their work stress, occupational burnout, and coping strategies. Based on the survey results, corresponding mitigation strategies are proposed to provide some reference opinions for the construction of university supervisor teams. Firstly, by reviewing relevant literature on work stress, occupational burnout, and coping strategies among university supervisors, the core concepts are defined. Secondly, a questionnaire survey method is employed to analyze the Occupational stress and its sources, occupational burnout, and coping strategies of university supervisors based on the survey results. The following conclusions are drawn: Firstly, supervisors from the four universities generally experience high levels of work stress, and the issue of occupational stress among them needs urgent resolution. Secondly, regarding the three dimensions of the occupational Burnout Scale, the total score averages at 74.3180 with a standard deviation of 16.11783, indicating a high level of occupational burnout among supervisors as a whole. Thirdly, in the analysis of specific coping strategies, Escape-Avoidance has the highest average score (20.3740), suggesting that many participants tend to adopt strategies of escaping or avoiding when faced with stress. Fourthly, there is a positive correlation between the three variables. Finally, considering the work stress, occupational burnout, and coping strategies of university supervisors, this paper proposes corresponding mitigation strategies from the social, organizational, and individual levels, aiming to reduce their sense of Occupational stress and enhance their professional well-being.
