Abstract:

This study aims to assess the relationship between resource protection strategies and visitor experience and satisfaction at nature-based attractions in the MIMAROPA Region, Philippines. It includes objectives such as describing visitor demographics, evaluating resource protection strategies, determining visitor experiences and satisfaction, and proposing a nature-based management framework for improving strategies and enhancing visitor experience. The study employed a quantitative, descriptive-correlational design to assess resource protection strategies, visitor experience, and satisfaction at nature-based attractions in MIMAROPA, Philippines. Surveys were administered to 387 local tourists, selected through stratified random sampling, to gather data on visitor demographics, experiences, and satisfaction. The data collection instrument, adapted from established methodologies, exhibited high reliability across various indicators. Data were analyzed using non-parametric tests due to non-normal distribution, with Spearman rho used to assess relationships among variables. Ethical standards were strictly adhered to, including data anonymization, informed consent, and compliance with the Data Privacy Act of 2012. A significant correlation was found between resource protection, visitor experience, and satisfaction, leading to the development of a proposed framework to enhance these aspects. Recommendations include infrastructure improvements, targeted marketing, regular conservation assessments, and the establishment of a task force to oversee the implementation of the proposed framework. Future research could explore these findings using qualitative methods.
