Abstract:
This study identifies the key drivers of employee productivity in chemical enterprises in Shandong Province, China, focusing on the interrelationship between career development, incentive mechanisms, and loyalty. This study used a self-made questionnaire as a data collection tool, and the participants in this study were more than 400 employees from the top five chemical enterprises in Shandong Province, China. By developing a comprehensive framework, this study aims to enable Chinese chemical companies to maximize employee productivity, increase corporate profitability, and contribute to the long-term success of the industry in a rapidly evolving global market. This study points out that career development, incentive mechanism, and employee loyalty are critical to productivity, and at the same time, the improvement of the career Development mechanism (Promotion Opportunities, Training and Development, Job Changes) will positively correlate with the improvement of the incentive mechanism. The improvement of incentive mechanism (Complexity, Flexibility, Cognitive Commitment) will enhance employee loyalty, and the improvement of career development mechanism will also enhance employee loyalty. There is a high correlation among career development, incentive mechanism and employee loyalty, which complement each other and build the framework of employee productivity.
