Abstract:
Eggs are a staple food that is a rich source of nutrients our bodies need. With the ever-changing risks to health, people are becoming conscious of their food intake and choosing healthy foods. Transitioning to organic food is familiar to everyone. This study aims to determine the feasibility of producing and marketing organic eggs in San Jose, Occidental Mindoro. The study’s objectives include assessing market demand, analyzing technical requirements, estimating financial investments, and evaluating socio-economic impacts. A descriptive research design was employed, using a survey questionnaire, interviews with respondents, and secondary data from books, journals, feasibility studies, and theses. The survey results revealed a strong market potential, with 99% of the respondents showing interest and willingness to purchase organic eggs. The project’s production area is in Buslugan, Bubog. The initial capital requirement and project cost are Php 810,757.57. The financial projection indicates profitability from the first year of operation, with a projected return of 191% in the second year and a promising 404% by 2029. The study concludes that the production and marketing of organic eggs in San Jose, Occidental Mindoro, is viable and holds significant potential. The proposed project is expected to benefit the owner and contribute to the economy by creating job opportunities, supporting local farmers, increasing local government collections, and giving healthy food options to consumers. Based on the findings, recommendations include collaborating with local egg producers, conducting market research on threats to egg production, exploring effective marketing strategies, developing feed management, and attending training on organic egg production.
