Abstract:

This study determined the relationship among innovation, teamwork, and practical training in Chinese technical universities. It employed descriptive research, gathering data from 502 students across three technical universities in China through a validated questionnaire. The findings revealed that the majority of the respondents were young adult learners, predominantly male, and enrolled in engineering and automation programs. In terms of innovation, teamwork, and practical training in Chinese technical universities, the participants of the study generally agreed on all the indicators and gave positive responses. Additionally, there were no significant differences found in the responses on innovation, teamwork, and practical training when grouped according to age, sex, and program or specialization. Also, there is a highly significant relationship among innovation, teamwork, and practical training in Chinese technical universities. This implies that when students engage in collaborative teamwork and hands-on practical training, their capacity for innovation increases substantially. This finding highlights the importance of integrating team-based projects and industry-oriented experiences into the curriculum, as such approaches create an environment conducive to creativity and problem-solving. In the end, a proposed continuous improvement plan aimed at enhancing innovation, teamwork, and practical training among Chinese technical universities was developed based on the results of the study. This plan will serve as a roadmap for sustainable program enhancement and alignment with evolving industrial standards that will benefit higher educational institutions, particularly technical universities in China.
