Abstract:
The purpose of this study is to determine the effectiveness of using Strategic Intervention Material (SIM) in the learning of students in Filipino 9 during the COVID-19 pandemic in one of the High School of Bais City, Philippines. This study covers one hundred (100) respondents from four sections in Filipino 9 in the Second Quarter. Each section selected consists of twenty-five (25) respondents. They were given a pre-test before the lessons began. The results were then analyzed to identify the least mastered competency, which served as the basis for creating the Strategic Intervention Material. The study used a one group pre-test-post-test design. The study revealed a significant difference in the academic performance levels of the respondents obtained from the unified standardized pre-test and post-test design. The use of SIM was effective as there was an increase in results from the assessment of the four groups with a Mean Percentage Score of 74.23% to 84.69%. The outcome of the study served as a basis for implementing an intervention that suggests an action plan in the program using the Strategic Intervention Material in Filipino 9.
