Abstract:
Gender is one of the blistering issues in any type of society, it solidifies an individual’s stance on the level and gender status in society. This study is entitled “GENDER COMPLEXITY: PAGSIYASAT SA MGA KASO NG GENDER SHIFT SA IMPLUWENSIYA NG BOYS LOVE MOVIE SERIES SA KABATAANG MILENYAL.” This study is based on Queer theory to further highlight the gender significance of the said study. It was conducted qualitatively using an intrinsic case study design. The substantial participation of Millennials as study participants served as a key to this research. This study demonstrated the state of gender shift among millennial youth—before and after prolonged viewing of Boys Love movie series. The study also identified the influences of BL-movie series on the gender shift of millennials in psychological, emotional, and social aspects. Meanwhile, to identify the unique effects of watching BL-movie series, this study pinpointed the positive and negative impacts on the gender expression of millennials.
