Abstract:
This study aims to determine the effectiveness of a module on various writing mechanics through the learning level of seventh-grade students at Koronadal National Comprehensive High School. The study used an experimental design involving pre-tests and post-tests as instruments. The transmuted scores were analyzed by calculating the mean, and the z-test was used to compare the significant difference between the pre-test and post-test of the experimental group and the control group. The findings revealed that students in both groups had little knowledge about writing mechanics in the pre-test, but in the post-test, the experimental group achieved a satisfactory level of learning using the module, while the control group remained below expectations with traditional teaching methods. It was proven that the module on various writing mechanics is effective in improving students’ writing skills. Thus, it is recommended that the module on various writing mechanics focusing on spelling, uppercase and lowercase letters, punctuation, spacing and indentation be used in teaching writing skills as an instructional tool for seventh-grade students in schools.
