Abstract:

The study aimed to utilize and assess the efficacy of Integratibong Gawaing Pagkatuto (IGP) in teaching Filipino sa Piling Larang (Akademik) in writing academic texts; Bionote, Position Paper, and Travel Essay. The respondents of this study were the 20 grade 12 Senior High School students taking General Academic Strand. The study was conducted at Maghaway National High School, Maghaway, Talisay City, Cebu in the school year 2022-2023. Three instruments were utilized in this study; lesson plan, scoring rubrics, and the IGP which was personally crafted by the researchers and validated by the experts. A quasi-experimental design was conducted to assess the efficacy of IGP between the controlled and experimental groups. It has been found in the study that there is a big interval in the scores from the two groups. It is also proven that there is a significant difference in mean scores between the controlled and experimental groups. Based on the findings the researchers stress the importance of IGP in teaching academic text in helping the students to enhance their writing skills through multi-media integration and localized learning materials.
