Abstract:
This research aims to determine the popular “Filipino-Tadbalik” words, understand its usage, and identify the difficulties in using these by the students of Saint Louise de Marillac College of Sorsogon. The research used Descriptive Survey with 168 participants from the Education Program. Out of 274 students, the total population was determined through Slovin’s Formula. To determine the total number of participants, random sampling was used. In conclusion, there are various “Filipino-Tadbalik” words that are very popular to the students of SLMCS that are being used in communication. These are evident in their casual conversations with their classmates and friends. The use of “Filipino-Tadbalik” words cause confusions to some in terms of utterance (how they say it) and understanding (what they actually mean) of each word. With this, the following are recommended: (a) the “Filipino-Tadbalik” can be use in communication; in exchanging ideas with classmates and friends; (b) consider the words to use when utilizing these “Filipino-Tadbalik” words and the person you talk to.
