Abstract:

The paper presents a historical overview of educational indigenization in the context of Philippine society. The historical focuses on the origins of education in society, the place of education in society, the context of society in education, and the analysis of the relationship between education and society in achieving the goal of indigenization in the Philippines. The research used and referred to various works by experts, historians, and people from 1863 to the year 2020 because the study covers the history of education in the country. The paper also highlights the formulation of concepts based on Republic Act No. 8371, Republic Act No. 10533 and Department of Education Orders No. 62, series 2011 and No. 32, series 2015 that can be used to place education in the context of application to the needs of the indigenous society now.
