Abstract:
Technology plays a significant role in modern education. Alongside this is the advancement of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) in schools, which helps enhance and improve teaching for students. Proficiency in using technology for teaching is essential to expand both teaching and learning. The primary objective of this study is to determine the level of teachers’ proficiency in using technology for teaching the Filipino subject. This study is a quantitative research using a correlational design and was conducted in the National High Schools of Tacloban City. The sample was selected using an online sample size calculator, and an adopted questionnaire—comprising an interview and a Likert Scale—was used. The results revealed that the teachers’ proficiency in using technology had an overall median average of 4.00, indicating a high level of proficiency among the teacher-respondents in this research. Thus, this study suggests the continued and enhanced use of technology in teaching.
