Every language has its own distinct characteristics which serves as its identity. The purpose of this study is to describe and analyze the similarities or differences of Binisayang Silagonhon and Binisayang Cabalianon language. This study used qualitative design using descriptive method in a form of online survey and interview. This study involves twenty (20) respondents which came from Silago and San Juan, Southern Leyte that has deep knowledge about their language. The objective of this study is to analyze the differences or similarities of the Binisayang Silagonhon and Binisayang Cabalianon language in order to generate a glossary to be used as supplement in teaching and learning of K-3 students of Southern Leyte to better understand the Mother Tongue Based Multilingual Education and other subject matter that uses MTB-MLE in teaching. Results revealed that Binisayang Cabalianon usually uses the phoneme /y/ which makes it different from other languages of the neighboring town. Substitution or addition of phoneme was evident based on the words that the respondents translated using their language but this process does not affect nor change the meaning of the particular word. Binisayang Silagonhon and Binisayang Cabalianon language found to have similarities and differences because of the heographic location of both towns. Therefore, it is suggested to conduct a study that focuses entirely on transcription of unfamiliar words that is used in every instructional material in teaching MTB-MLE subject and translating them using the first language of students of Southern Leyte for successful teaching and learning process.
