Abstract:
The study aimed to analyze and understand the literary elements in Generation Z social media short series as a platform for identifying the culture and critical skills. This study examined five selected short series that have become popular on social media. These are the Gen Z issues, literary elements: theme, moral significance, and sociological dimension. The study used a qualitative research design, specifically content analysis and descriptive methods, to examine the relationship between literary elements and the culture of the current generation. In summary, the study identified the dominant issues facing Gen Z, which primarily revolve around social consciousness and personal issues among youth. In terms of theme, a channel for reflection and change emerged in youth culture. Meanwhile, in terms of moral significance, love for one’s own personality prevails as the foundation of stability and family. It can also be seen that sociological dimensions always emerge in the shows, which show the relationship between the individual and social reality as a mirror of contemporary life. In conclusion, social series are an effective tool and platform for teaching and learning, strengthening popular culture, improving communicative skills, and fostering critical thinking and a deeper understanding of life’s realities.
