Abstract:
Sambal is a heritage language in the Northern Part of Zambales Province, Philippines. It is reported that there is an obvious decrease of the sambal speakers especially among the younger generations. This paper aims to propose a Language Preservation Program for Sambal Language. This program has 5 components good for 6 months. It is designed to equip the parents on how to preserve the Sambal language at home when dealing with their children. The researcher utilized Qualitative method with Descriptive-analytic research design to create the program applying Textual and Document analysis to review the relevant literature and study, the researcher carefully selected the documents based on their relevance to the program and its scope. This program can be an effective solution for the decline of Sambal speakers in the municipalities of Botolan, Masinloc, Candelaria and Sta. Cruz in Zambales.
