Abstract:
This study examined instructional leadership, faculty competence, and curriculum innovation in selected Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) offering Hospitality Management programs in Bulacan. Using a descriptive-correlational research design, the study gathered data from 369 respondents, consisting of program chairs, faculty members, students, and quality assurance officers from five HEIs. Data were analyzed using frequency and percentage, weighted mean, Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), and Pearson Product-Moment Correlation. The findings revealed that instructional leadership, faculty competence, and curriculum innovation were consistently perceived as evident across the participating institutions. Statistical analysis further showed no significant differences in the assessments of the four respondent groups, indicating a shared perception of the current practices implemented in their respective programs. However, a very strong positive relationship was found between instructional leadership and curriculum innovation, as well as between faculty competence and curriculum innovation, emphasizing the importance of effective leadership and competent faculty in promoting curriculum enhancement. Respondents also acknowledged challenges related to leadership practices, faculty development, and curriculum implementation. Based on these findings, a comprehensive Quality Assurance System was developed to address identified concerns and strengthen continuous program improvement. The proposed framework was evaluated as highly suitable, highly acceptable, and highly feasible by the respondents, demonstrating its potential to support institutional quality enhancement. The study concludes that strengthening instructional leadership, enhancing faculty competence, and sustaining curriculum innovation are essential strategies for improving the quality and competitiveness of Hospitality Management programs in Higher Education Institutions.
