Abstract:

This study examined the relationship between financial awareness and work adaptability among administrative employees of the Provincial Government of Camarines Sur (PGCS). The study used a standardized survey tool designed for a descriptive-correlational research design and collected data from 135 employees via a structured questionnaire. Financial awareness was assessed across four dimensions: propensity to save, inclination to invest, budgeting capability, and efficient debt management. Work adaptability, on the other hand, was evaluated in terms of understanding of government organizational structure, level of commitment, perception of compensation, and effectiveness of communication within the workplace. Staff showed only minimal understanding of basic financial matters. Budgeting came off slightly better – falling into the middle range – but little else followed suit. Saving patterns trailed behind, just like investment behaviors and how people handled their debts. On another note, most individuals adjusted fairly well when job requirements shifted. Flexibility around workplace changes seemed more common than smart money choices. How they managed change stood out compared to their financial judgment. Statistical analysis showed a significant positive correlation between financial awareness and work adaptability (r = 0.697, p = 0.000), indicating that higher financial awareness is associated with greater work adaptability. The study concludes that improving financial awareness may enhance work adaptability among administrative personnel. Based on these findings, it recommends developing and implementing a structured financial education program specifically designed to address the needs of PGCS administrative employees.
