Abstract:
This study explored the perceived advantages of E-Wallet and mobile money services among student users, focusing on demographic and academic variables. The primary respondent profile was a male, early adult, single, third-year BS Criminology student from a low-income household, using GCash on a weekly basis. Findings revealed that respondents strongly agreed on the benefits of speed, convenience, accessibility, cost-effectiveness, and promotional offers, with security rated slightly lower. Statistical analysis showed significant differences in perceptions of speed by age, convenience by sex, and multiple dimensions—convenience, accessibility, speed, and promotional offers—by academic course. These results underscore the relevance of tailoring digital financial services to user demographics. In response, an intervention program was developed to enhance strengths and address weaker areas. Key recommendations include sustaining performance in speed and convenience, improving security features, promoting user awareness, and refining interface design to ensure inclusive and efficient service delivery.
