Abstract:
This study utilized developmental research. It aimed to develop and validate an Excel-aided Module in Statistics designed to enhance learners’ conceptual understanding and computational skills. With the increasing demand for technology-integrated learning materials, this study sought to address the challenges faced by students in grasping abstract statistical concepts and applying them through practical tools. The module was developed based on the curriculum standards of Enhanced Mathematics for Grade 9 and included interactive features, guided activities, and real-life data sets to support active learning. The validation process involved a panel of experts in the fields of mathematics education, statistics, and instructional material development who assessed the module’s content validity, mechanics, organization and appropriateness with learning competencies. The module passed the validation process with a mean 4.97 Very Highly Valid which means that the Excel – aided Statistics module is appropriate, relevant, and pedagogically sound for classroom instruction. Its content accuracy, organization, mechanics and appropriateness make it a reliable and effective supplementary instructional material to supplement existing textbooks and reference materials in Statistics for enhancing students’ understanding of statistical concepts. Thus, the module is deemed suitable for implementation in the teaching and learning of Statistics in Grade 9. It is recommended that the excel – aided Statistics module should be presented and recommended to be used by teachers to the DepEd higher authorities for perusal and approval, it shall be evaluated after two to three years to assess its effectiveness and whether it has served its purpose.
