Abstract:

The current study focuses on documenting the success stories of fishermen in the town of Pilar, Sorsogon. A descriptive-qualitative research design was used in the study. Purposive sampling was employed to select fishermen who have success stories due to their livelihood in fishing. Based on the analysis, their success is reflected in three aspects: being able to send their children to college, starting their businesses, and building their own homes. The results show that fishing can contribute to the development of families and communities. Through education, media, and cooperatives, their livelihood can be strengthened, and their success stories can serve as inspiration for others to take pride in this profession. This research can serve as a guide for future in-depth studies on valuing and improving their livelihood.
