Abstract:

Utilizing quantitative research design and descriptive-correlational research method, this study explored the relationship between organizational development practices and school-based management practices among public secondary schools in the Department of Education-Kasibu East District using a quantitative, descriptive-correlational research design. Organizational development was assessed across six dimensions: vision and mission, organizational structure, information flow and decision-making, stakeholder engagement and retention, technology and infrastructure, and organizational renewal. School-based management was examined in terms of leadership and governance, curriculum and learning, accountability and continuous improvement, and resource management. A total of 62 secondary school teachers (79.49% of the district’s teacher population) were selected through Slovin’s formula and stratified sampling from three schools: Malabing Valley National High School, Alimit Integrated School, and Eastern Nueva Vizcaya National High School. Data were gathered using validated questionnaires and analyzed using mean, Pearson correlation coefficients, and hypothesis testing at a 0.05 significance level. Findings revealed that both organizational development and school-based management practices were rated as Good, with areas for improvement in technology, leadership, and governance. A moderate positive correlation between the two variables suggests their interdependence. These insights informed a targeted training program aimed at enhancing organizational effectiveness and strengthening school-based management practices.
