Many people use different social media platforms such as twitter to express their views on political issues. This study was developed with the aim of identifying the elements of political memes on twitter based on form and type and to know the issues reflected in twitter memes. The theoretical basis were Information Manipulation Theory and Functional Group Communication Theory. This is a qualitative study which employed content analysis design. The researchers collected trending political twitter memes based on the identified time frame under the study. It emerged that the forms of political twitter memes are comic meme, entertainment function meme and parody memes and the types consist support and criticism. In addition, based on the collected political twitter memes the issues regarding human behavior, diversity of political views, discrimination and person’s ability to lead were identified.
