Abstract:

This research aims to know and understand the Impact of Pandemic to the students at Veritas College of Irosin for the school year 2021-2022. The study made use of the descriptive analysis under the quantitative research design. Purposive sampling was used to gather the data from 52 first year students in Veritas College of Irosin. Frequency count, percentage and ranking was employed to analyze the impact of pandemic, difference between mental condition of the students in the present and past times, and the importance of the guidance of the teachers and parents to the students. Based on the analysis of the data obtained, both positive and negative impacts of the pandemic have manifested but negative impacts sprouted more than the positive ones. The new mode of learning has been more challenging to the students wherein the printed modules are the only medium of the students for learning that causes them to experience stress, doubt, panic and other negative mental conditions. Because of this, the guidance of the teachers and parents has a great role in molding and improving the knowledge of the students. For the students, providing quality guidance and teaching strategy are more needed to create a clear understanding on each of their classes. Meanwhile, deeper research about the research topic “effectiveness of new alternative system mode of learning amidst the pandemic” would be a big help and is advisable to do so to formulate more accurate and effective solutions and recommendations for better system of teaching on each respective courses or field of study.
